“My name is Katya. Originally from Ukraine, I dreamt of a quiet and peaceful life while living and working in my homeland. However, fate had other plans. My job in Ukraine was very challenging, and serious health problems arose, leading to my departure. Financially, it was tough, finding myself alone at a young age. For many years, my loyal companion was my pet, my cat. In his affectionate eyes, I found support and understanding, and every purr was a comforting melody. During difficult times, my fluffy pet, embodying selfless friendship, filled my life with warmth and joy.
Due to a new job, I often had to leave home for extended periods, leaving my faithful companion alone. These periods became a trial for me, but in challenging moments, I realized the importance of caring for my pet in my absence.
When the war started in Ukraine, I had to make the difficult decision to leave my home, which held many memories and warm moments. The war forced me to leave everything behind and start a new life in Toronto. Here, I not only found refuge but also decided to fulfill my childhood dream – to work with animals. My belief in better things and the support of friends helped me overcome these difficult moments and start a new chapter in my life.
Deciding to become a petsitter in this city, I discovered strength within myself and an ability to adapt to the new. Being a petsitter is not just a profession but a true calling for me, as I have loved animals since childhood. In this environment, I found immeasurable joy in caring for animals. Interacting with them brings me indescribable pleasure, and every day is an opportunity to make their lives better. I enjoy being a petsitter because each animal is a unique personality to me. Caring for them brings me joy, and the opportunity to create a warm and safe atmosphere for them makes my work particularly meaningful.
The love and care I invest in my work emphasize my profound respect for animals, making each day in this profession remarkable. Remaining true to my values, I realized that love and care for animals give meaning to each day. In this new chapter of my life, I not only found my calling as a petsitter but also gained deep respect for animals.
